Francisco Goya is one of Catto’s favorite painters. “The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters,” from his “Los Caprichos” etchings, is a particular favorite. The sleeping figure from Goya’s masterpiece became the starting point for the original mixed media and morphed into a print.
