Pattern Story
A 2019 New York Times article on global avian decline inspired Isa to paint a series of endangered bird portraits to raise awareness of vulnerable birds. The Piping Plover is the second in the series; he’s a little shorebird that can be found in the Northern Great Plains, the shores of the Great Lakes, and along the Atlantic coast. Product Story
When I was nine a family friend gave me The Nothing Book. I carried it everywhere and this habit became permanent — I am never without my journal. My sketchbooks hold my brain: the galumphing to-do list, jottings, inspiration, places to visit, music to listen to, books to read, movies to see, endless doodles, potential painting titles, dreams and schemes, kids appointments, my calendar, and the rest of the beat. Piping Plover wire notebook.
