The impacts from the climate crisis are our new normal — melting glaciers, devastating floods, super tornados and mega-hurricanes. And then there is fire. Catto lives in Colorado, where the threat of seasonal wildfire and drought are as American as the Fourth of July and lemonade stands. These two paintings were inspired by fire mapping of hot spots, depicting the backdrafts of a local wildfire — the Grizzly Creek fire. 2020.
