Peony in Blue Silk Scarf

I join legions of flower fanatics when I say that peonies are my favorite flowers. The plants are Chinese natives and are associated with honor, prosperity, friendship, and feminine beauty. My peony borders peak in late June or early July, and I love every incarnation from bud to seed pod. We translated pages of sketches of peonies, just past their prime, into a scarf. I wish peonies came in a blue hue, so I made my own.

My mother Jessica taught me that scarves were the best fashion hacks and inspired the creation of these pieces. I still have four treasured scarves of my mother’s. Her beloved Hermes scarf is framed and hangs in my daughter’s bedroom.  A great scarf can give you an instant shot of color, lifts the face, and adds miles to a simple wardrobe. This blue and white silk scarf is timeless.
